This is a great reference tool if you're just getting started playing guitar and you're learning your beginning open chords.  It's also great for increasing your knowledge of chords overall - no matter what stage you're at with you're guitar playing.  Of all the chord dictionary tools out there - this is probably the easiest to use.

This a nice simple guitar tuner that's very easy to figure out. It plays each string of the guitar in standard tuning.

Online Drum Machine


This a great online drum machine called Monkey Machine.  You can make any beat you want and change the tempo and length.  And it's free!  Now you have no excuse for playing without a beat!

This is a fun site that has some classic drum machine beats on it.  Some of the better ones are : Electro-Harmonix DRM-16,  The Electro-Harmonix DRM-15,The Boss DR-55, The Univox Microrhythmer 12, The Oberheim DX, The ELI Computer Rhythm CR-7030.  The option to vary the tempo of the beats isn't available, but nonetheless there are some pretty cool sounds to try out.

*To make the page easier to navigate to the suggested drum machines, I suggest you copy(<command>C) the name of the drum machine you want to try out - and then paste it(<command> V) into the "find" feature available on most browsers.  On Safari and Firefox for example, the find feature opens up if you press <command> F.
